FAQ’s

What does a coaching session involve?

My 1:1 sessions are one hour long, and I generally follow a structure:

  • Firstly, identify what you would like to focus on during the session.
  • Explore all the possible ideas of the desired goal through thought-provoking questions.
  • Allow you, the client, to determine a preferable outcome and a working strategy for successful focus.
  • Illuminate the ways in which ADHD may impact the given goal.
  • Create tools and methods to enable you to take the first step.
  • Session review and recap.

How do I get started with the coaching

sessions?

  • To start, we schedule a free discovery call (approx. 30 mins) to discuss all the areas that you want to concentrate on and also see if we are a match for working together and are happy to take the next step. If there is an instant rapport, I’ve discovered that the call naturally develops into a mini session, which is a bonus for the client and gives further insight to me, the coach!

How much does it cost?

  • You can check out my prices for 1:1, 1-hour sessions and a block of sessions by clicking the link here (Prices).

How are ADHD coaches trained?

  • There exist quite a few ADHD coaching programs, and it is always good to ask for credentials and experience. What is also important to know is if the coach also has ADHD because this will add a lived and personal experience to the overall coaching.

Is coaching regulated?

  • No, the coaching community is not officially regulated, per se; however, if a coach has trained through official coaching associations, regular supervision is available. This allows a kind of check-in to see how the coach is doing in general and to give them an opportunity to bring to light any concerns they have regarding specific cases through reviews and reflections. This is imperative to maintain a healthy and safe connection at all times between the coach and the client.

Is there ever homework to be carried out between the sessions?

  • Not always, but sometimes I will set some challenges or suggestions to be worked on and tried out in between the sessions. It’s not really homework in the true sense of the word but tools and strategies that may or may not be woven together with the client’s overall ideas. It’s more about experimenting and seeing how it will help and improve in specific areas.

Do I work with people outside of my country?

  • Yes, I coach anyone from around the world.

Is coaching successful?

  • I have been privileged to have worked with some amazing ADHD brains, and the feedback and results were very positive.
  • It’s important to note that coaches cannot wave magic wands and make everything all right for the coachee. Personal work and time are essential to make the most of the sessions and get them working for you, as the client, in the best possible way.
  • Overall, the efficacy of coaching has had a positive impact in people’s lives with ADHD.

Do I have to have an official diagnosis to work with you?

  • No, not at all. You are valued equally whether you are undiagnosed or diagnosed.

How is coaching different from therapy?

  • Coaching focuses on building skills and strategies to take action in the areas you wish to create and enhance the life you would like to have.
  • Therapy focuses on your past and emotional healing.
  • It’s not uncommon that a client would also benefit from both coaching and therapy, and I personally have coached clients that were also undergoing therapy at the same time.
  • I think it all depends on the individual and their needs. It’s important to remember one size doesn’t fit all!
